What We Believe

Our church accepts the Bible as the source and foundation for all
our beliefs. At the same time, we have adopted several creeds,
our statements of faith, to guide in our understanding of the
Bible – namely, the Ecumenical Creeds, including the Apostles'
Creed, and the Reformed Confessions, including the Heidelberg
Catechism.

On the basis of the Bible and these creeds, we believe the
following:

The Bibleis the inspired and infallible Word of God.

The TrinityGod is one God, but exists in three persons -
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

God, the Fatheris the Creator and Sustainer of this
universe, having made it by His powerful Word.

ManGod created man perfect, but he sinned against God, so that all
people are now born in sin and subject to eternal death.

Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God, Who came into the world as
a man, died for sinners on the cross, and earned salvation for them.
He rose physically from death, ascended to heaven, where He now
rules, and will some day come again to judge all men.

Salvationsinners can be saved from sin and hell by believing in
Jesus Christ as their only Savior. Good works cannot save anyone,
but only true faith.

The Holy Spirit is the divine person Who gives sinners new
spiritual life, so they are born again and converted.

The Christian Lifeall professing Christians must serve and obey
God according to His will.

The Churchall true Christians must align themselves to a church
where they can worship God, hear His Word preached and receive
the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper.
